Stopping a Recurring Member’s Auto-Renewal

< 1 min read

To prevent a recurring member from auto-renewing, you’ll want to update them to a one-time payer. To do so, simply:

  1. Deactivate the patient’s membership by selecting the Cancel Membership button. Make sure you have their information saved as we will be re-entering it.
  2. Re-enter the patient as a cash/check one-time payer. Do this by selecting the “One Time Payment” (cash/check or card) under “Frequency/Type” of your “Add New Membership” page. Select cash/check as the payment type if the patient has already been charged. (This way they will not be charged again.)
  3. Now you can update their plan end date to the correct date by submitting a support request.

That’s it! You have successfully changed a recurring member to a one-time payer.

Now the patient will no longer auto-renew, but will still be tracked in the dashboard. When their plan ends, they will receive a notification from the software to call the office and renew their membership.
